Project Manager

The Role

The Project Manager is responsible for converting client project specifications into research results. This is accomplished through consultation on fielding methodology, management of client expectations and project results throughout data collection.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage market research projects from commissioning to invoice.
  • Keep clients informed about progression of project while managing quotas and keeping deadlines.
  • Manage expectations, de-escalate issues, provide guidance, and problem solve to make projects successful.
  • Keep and maintain client relationships that result in referrals and repeat business.
  • Administer internal customer and project information through efficient project documentation.
  • Share knowledge across internal teams.
  • Review data files to look for errors or inconsistencies.
  • Is able to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and able to be accountable for actions.
  • Team player. Ability to jump in and help a team member when needed.
  • Ability to be flexible and embrace change to help make the business successful.
  • Ability to prioritize. Zero in on the critical few tasks, and puts the trivial many aside.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-3 years of work experience
  • Specialized Skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Suite
  • Proficient technical aptitude to build expertise with various tools specific to the company and the industry
  • Experience in marketing, research, sales, or analytics is a plus
  • Experience working in a position where good communication was crucial

Ruby on Rails Engineer

The Role

You are an experienced back end engineer with extensive experience building at least one large scale production application using Ruby on Rails.

You will be responsible for evaluating frameworks and making technical design choices for our particular business needs, communicating the pros and cons clearly to the rest of the team. You will have the opportunity to set standards and providing guidance to subsequent back end hires.

You are both an independent and a good team player, a great problem solver, and have a strong commitment to writing quality, efficient software. You will collaborate directly with our CTO and your work will have high impact on millions of users starting on day one.

What you'll do
  • Evaluate framework choices and drive optimizations across all areas of our application
  • Design, implement, and maintain our supply and demand APIs
  • Scope out features and collaborate closely with Product
  • Whiteboard and discuss a solution to a complex scaling problem -- then making it happen
  • Experiment with new technology to make our system more reliable and scalable
  • Help the support team triage issues and bugs
Your profile
  • 4+ years experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Proficient with database design and optimizations in MySQL and Redis.
  • Experience with AWS, linux, and distributed systems
  • Familiar with front-end technologies -- Javascript, HTML, CSS
  • Working knowledge of mobile technologies is a plus
  • Previous startup experience preferred
Technology
  • We use a variety of open source languages and frameworks -- Ruby (Rails), Javascript (Backbone, React, jQuery), Objective-C (iOS), Java (Android), C# (Unity)
  • We are also reliant on AWS, MySQL, Redis, Redshift, Graylog, Resque, and Capistrano
